The Pet Wedding Fashion Business is Booming

More and more pet owners are beginning to include their pets in their wedding. The American Kennel Club recently conducted a survey that reported 18% of dog owners say they have or would include their dog in their wedding.

The reason for this is very simple. To many people, their pet is part of their family. And it is only natural to include them in important celebrations and events. Many dog owners wouldn’t dream of celebrating the most important day of their life without their pet by their side.

The most popular role is for the dog to act as ring-bearer. Generally, this feat is accomplished by attaching a satin pillow to the dog’s color. The pillow balances on the dog’s neck as it prances down the aisle to the awaiting bride and groom. Other common wedding roles for dogs include being a maid of honor, best man, bridesmaid or flower pup.

But it’s not just dogs that are being included in weddings. It’s cat’s too. And some people even suggest including pet birds, fish, and other types of animals in weddings.

The idea of making your pet a part of your wedding is gaining ground and seems to be encouraged by pretty much everyone—from industry professionals to wedding planners. As a result, the pet wedding fashion business is booming. Many pet boutiques and specialty manufacturers are filling this highly specialized niche.

Owners can buy anything from a simple bow-tie or bandanna to flown-blown wedding attire for their pet. Many manufactures offer adorable pet wedding dresses, bridesmaids dresses, tiaras and tuxedoes. Rhinestone collars and pearl necklaces are also available.

Some owners prefer custom made wedding clothes that enable their pet to match their own attire. Owners enjoying picking out a certain fabric for their pet’s wedding clothes. Yellow seems to be a popular color, as it is extremely bright and cheery. It also works well for both male and female dogs.

The pet wedding fashion business is expected to grow as more and more people catch onto this exciting trend.
